Thanks for looking me up! My name is Virginia – I am a teacher and a coach. My great passion is teaching people how to nourish themselves optimally so they can reach their potential. Notice I said nourish…. That’s because in holistic nutrition, food is just one of many aspects to consider when it comes to your health. Many lifestyle factors can influence your health experience – and you are unique.
I have over a decade of experience working in lifestyle and nutrition counseling. My journey began as a Certified Lifestyle Educator by Metagenics and a graduate of the Algonquin College Management Studies program which landed me the Manager role at Keenan Health Centre 16 years ago, which I managed until very recently.
Being a lifestyle educator and working in a clinic proved to be life changing for me, but I still wanted to do more. After some research I returned to school for holistic nutrition studies, so I could expand my knowledge and grow my tool kit. I graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) with honours, hold their Advanced Cognitive Support Certificate, and had the privilege of being my class valedictorian.
In fulfilling my mission to teach people about nourishing themselves, I not only see clients in my private practice, but was also an instructor at CSNN, where I taught budding nutritionists subjects such as symptomatology, nutritional literature research, sports, special focus workshops and the ketogenic diet, and today, still provide mentoring for nutritionists when asked.
I have enjoyed over twenty years of experience mentoring and coaching individuals in my various management positions. This is such an important piece of the puzzle because knowing why and what to change does not always translate to change… Coaching is often required to help break through to a new way of eating or living.
My practice focuses on diseases and conditions associated with inflammation, especially related to the brain (cognitive performance, dementia, mood), chronic pain and autoimmunity. I also have a fascination with maximizing health-span and longevity, with traditional and ancestral diets.
In my spare time you can find me on my bicycle, hiking or in a tent enjoying the fresh air and outdoor exercise!
